Is it illegal to say you're someone you're not?
I got a call from a 1-800 number and they were asking for my mom. My mom was at work and I thought it was a telemarketer. I said I was her and they then asked me questions I didn't understand (they aren't telemarketers, I'm assuming that they are a bill company), so I told him that I was actually her son and they would need to call back at 6:30. He then told me that saying that I was someone who I wasn't is against the law and this call is on recording. I told him I was sorry, and that they can call back to speak with her. He kept repeating that the call was on recording. I then said goodbye, and he said "Goodbye, this call is on recording," then hung up. I don't know if he'll call back, and if they can press charges and my mom could go to jail. I'm 13. What's going on?!?!
