Has anybody done a maths degree through open university?

I am working full-time as a telemarketer but really don't want to do this for the rest of my life, I have a keen interest in mathematics and want to become an actuary. I am currently teaching myself A Levels but these are not needed to do the course through open university but I enjoy going learning, has anybody done the degree in maths, how long did it take, was there any major problems you came across with learning from home, also did you find that companies did not look on your favourably having done the course at home and not going to university?
